Well, here's the deal: it was 7 PM so it couldn't have been the lunch. I remember thinking it was expensive but crazy-expensive desserts aren't unheard of, and a few of us had "arucha iskit" on the receipt. I wondered if we mixed up the receipts and I accidentally paid for my friend's soup but they had already paid so it wasn't worth investigating. I also had a Diet Coke but didn't see if anywhere on the receipt.

Gosh, so much to say, so little iniative to type it all out.
Haifa is a nice place to visit, but I would have a serious problem with living in a town whose whole front is covered by the Baha'i Gardens. Yes, I know it's beautiful. But it's also a bit surreal and stepford-y.
The Tel Aviv/Jerusalem thing is true and that's why I always recommend for people to do programs in Israel. Part of the program is to travel through the country to experience all parts of it.
Kibbutznikim are different. If you see a person walking barefoot in the street in the city, you've got yourself a kibbutznik. :-)
